You have been trying for a while to get pregnant, and you don t want to get another test done only to be disappointed before you are reasonably sure. So what are the early signs of pregnancy? What do you look for so that you know that you need to get a test done? There are at least ten definite signs that can tell you very early that you are finally pregnant. Many women will only experience a couple of signs and some will notice nearly all of the very early signs of pregnancy. From the time of conception, it takes about 5-7 days for the embryo to travel down the fallopian tube and implant in the uterine lining. At the same time there are hormonal changes occurring that cause the body to react and change. Darker areolas - the area around the nipple called the areola darkens and the bumps in that area can become more pronounced as early as the time of implantation for some women. 6. The hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) produced when the egg implants causes the increase in urination. 7. Constipation - due to the change in hormones the intestines may function differently and not be as effective at elimination as normal. This can be another early indication of pregnancy. 8. Uterine contractions - activities such as exercise, moving around and orgasm can initiate contractions in the uterus, which can be felt as light cramping. This is common in early pregnancy. 9. Morning sickness - nausea can be experienced as one of the first signs of pregnancy and this usually occurs in approximately half of all pregnant women.
